Beyond Streaks: Rivulet’s Life Harmony Score, Calmer Reminders and Plan for Tomorrow
Rivulet v1.7.0 introduces the Life Harmony Score: one calm 0–100 picture of how your Journal, Care, Family and Home are doing, with no streaks and no guilt. It also brings smarter care reminders and an evening “Plan for tomorrow” preview.
Short answer: The Life Harmony Score is a 0–100 balance indicator made of four equal pillars (Mind, Care, Family and Home, 25 points each). Half of each pillar is permanent foundation and half is recent rhythm, so resting never wipes your progress. It is paired with calmer care reminders and an evening “Plan for tomorrow” preview.
Most productivity apps measure you with a chain. Miss a day, the counter resets, and a small slip becomes a reason to quit. Real life, with sick days, travel and busy weeks, doesn’t work that way. In version 1.7.0 Rivulet takes a different view: balance is more like a river than a chain. Water slows down, pools and flows on.
The Life Harmony Score
At the top of your dashboard, a four-petal chart shows how your life is flowing at a glance. Tap any petal to jump straight to that part of Rivulet.
| Pillar | What it reflects |
|---|---|
| Mind (Journal) | Regular entries across the week plus deeper weekly reflection, and your saved journal history |
| Care | Personal self-care habits, a fair split of shared tasks in groups, and established routines |
| Family | Family members, connections and the stories you have preserved |
| Home (Things) | Rooms and items you have catalogued and organised |
Each pillar is capped at 25 points. Completing hundreds of tasks in Care will never make up for ignoring everything else, which gently nudges you toward balance rather than grinding one number.
Half foundation, half rhythm
Inside each pillar, up to 12.5 points are foundation: what you have built, such as journal history, family connections, routines and a catalogued home. Those points stay with you through holidays, illness and busy seasons. The other 12.5 points are rhythm, which follows your recent activity.
Four calm states
| Score | Label in the app |
|---|---|
| 0–29 | Starting |
| 30–59 | Building |
| 60–84 | Steady |
| 85–100 | Balanced |
Resting days, honoured
Open the detail view and you will find a 7-day activity row where days without activity are simply shown as resting. You can also follow the trend over a week, a month, six months or a year, and see how your Care time is split between personal habits and groups. In shared Care groups, a workload view shows whether tasks are evenly shared, which turns “who does more?” into a calm conversation about facts.
Calmer Care Reminders
A reminder that fires at 9:00 for a 15:00 appointment has usually been forgotten by the time it matters. Rivulet now ties reminders to the task itself:
- No default 9:00 alarm. Tasks without a time stay quiet unless you choose a reminder.
- 30 minutes before by default for personal tasks with a start time, so you have time to prepare or travel.
- Your choice per task: at start, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or 1 day before.
- Overdue alerts are now off by default, in line with a no-guilt approach to your day.
Plan for Tomorrow: An Evening Preview
An unfinished to-do list tends to keep running in your head at bedtime. Research on cognitive offloading, including a 2018 study by Scullin and colleagues, found that writing down a plan for the next day helped people fall asleep faster. Rivulet’s Tomorrow’s Preview puts that idea into a gentle notification.
Plan for tomorrow
Rest easy tonight. You’re all set for a smooth day ahead.
3 items in your schedule
It arrives at 20:00 by default. Tap it to open a vertical timeline of tomorrow’s care items, where you can tick items off, open one to edit it, or add a missing task before you put your phone down. If tomorrow is empty, Rivulet says so and lets you relax.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Life Harmony Score in Rivulet?
A 0–100 indicator of how balanced your life feels across four areas: Mind (Journal), Care, Family and Home (Things). Each area is worth up to 25 points. It is meant to be observed, not chased.
What happens to my score if I take a week off?
It does not reset to zero. Half of every area’s points are permanent foundation, earned by building things like journal history, family connections, saved routines and a catalogued home. Only the recent-rhythm half moves with your activity.
Does Rivulet use streaks?
No. Days without activity appear as quiet resting days in the 7-day view. There are no broken chains, warning colours or guilt messages.
How does the Plan for tomorrow preview work?
Every evening Rivulet sends a summary of tomorrow’s care items, at 20:00 by default. Tap it to open a vertical timeline where you can tick things off, edit them or add a task. You can change the time or turn it off in Settings, Notifications.
When do care reminders fire?
For a personal task with a start time, the default is 30 minutes before. You can choose at start, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or 1 day before. Tasks without a time do not get a default 9:00 alarm.
